People love video games. Even those who shy away from considering themselves gamers enjoy a bit of gaming every now and then all you need to do is go sit on public transportation for a couple of hours to see the masses of people playing Tetris on their cell phones. Even those who havent made the transition to the fancier smartphones likely know how to play the snake game on their cell phones and probably use it to wile away the empty minutes every now and then.

A savvy marketer sees this and starts dreaming of the possibilities. Bored consumers in locations where they have nothing else to do but tinker with the video games programmed into their cell phones are a prime market to start dropping advertising hints to. The numbers also back up the simple observations over one third of cell phone users play video games on their cell phones at least occasionally. With this in mind, its easy to realize that this is a gigantic portion of the population. In marketing terms, this is a gigantic portion of the population that could be looking at your advertisements.

This is where the Advergame comes in. The name might be a little strange, but theres nothing weird about how an advergame can help you get your marketing message across to an audience who often has nothing better to do than sit around and play your game. An advergame is exactly what it sounds like a video game thats been developed with your products in mind. Advergames come in all levels of complexity one advergame might just be simple Tetris with an advertising banner across the top of the screen, while another company with a larger budget might develop an RPG type game that cleverly involves their products and services while offering the player a competitive gaming environment.

Advergames are a great avenue to explore if youre at all interested in using the very best of technology to get the message across to your consumers. You also dont need to be very tech savvy in your own regard to get the ball started on advergame development a simple search online will produce hundreds of companies who are willing to help you design your very own advergame. All you need to do is come up with the idea for it, and let the programmers take care of the rest. Even if youre looking for a more complex advergame, there is likely a storyboard artist who works at advergame companies who would be more than happy to help you create an advergame of your very own.

Remember, the more compelling your game, the more contact youll have with the customer since theyll be inclined to play it longer. Come up with a compelling advergame and you could have potential customers interacting with your advertisements for hours!

Reaching Out To Prospects Through Email Advertising

Reaching Out To Prospects Through Email Advertising

Reaching Out To Prospects Through Email Advertising

It might come as no shock to you to learn that the most commonly engaged in activity on the Internet is email. People are connected to their email like no other function on the Internet, and we all know how popular Facebook and Twitter are. If you really want to get somebodys attention but cant or dont want to call, we reach for our emails. Email is one of the most professional and reliable ways to get in contact with somebody in the modern era, and even people who are less connected tend to have email addresses.

Reaching Out To Prospects Through Email Advertising

This means that if you can tap into an email connection with potential and current customers and clients, youll be getting their attention in the most reliable way possible. Most people check their email every day, and even those who dont spare a glance at it every week. That means theres a high chance that those people will be looking at your email in their box, and even if they dont read it, theyll be reminded of the existence of your company and its products and services.

Best of all, email advertising is cheap. In fact, it can be free. Sound too good to be true?

The flip side of all this is whats known as spam. Spam is unsolicited emails that is, the digital equal to junk mail. People loathe spam with a passion, and virtually all email accounts these days come with spam filters where if you try to reach out to a potential client uninvited, your email gets diverted to a netherworld of Viagra offers that most people dont even look at.

So how to get into the email boxes of your potential and current clients without falling prey to spam? Simple. Dont send unsolicited emails.

Most companies who are looking to take advantage of email advertising do so by utilizing opt in email lists. This is done by the customer actively choosing to sign up for your mailing lists. Most wise companies who take advantage of this offer a customer the chance to sign up for their email lists after making a purchase. Some even advertise it on the front page of their website (or right next to the checkout counter if its a brick and mortar operation).

The trick to opt in email lists is to make it worth your customers while to be part of the list. Dont send them ten emails a day. One a week is probably the maximum. When you do send out the emails, make sure that they have something relevant to say, and preferably at least one coupon. Rewarding your opt-in email subscribers is a great way for your business to be passed around by word of mouth. Itll work even better if theyre extremely happy customers!

Using Facebook Or Twitter To Engage Prospects

Using Facebook Or Twitter To Engage Prospects

Using Facebook Or Twitter To Engage Prospects One of the primary reasons that social media exists in the first place is to engage. Social media gives people a platform to reach out to each other, whether that purpose is fundamentally business or pleasure. People wish to engage with each other constantly, and social media gives people the ability to do so in real time, around the world.

Using Facebook Or Twitter To Engage Prospects

This is why social media is such a popular way for people to touch base, since it can be done anywhere, at any time. While a physical storefront will have hours of operation, the social networking sites never close. Essentially, the final step in the three part process regarding the offline business approach to social media should be getting people to engage with you and your business. You want people to subscribe to you Twitter feeds and Facebook profiles in order so you can communicate with them in a regular manner, and keep them interested in your content and wares. There are several ways you can use social media to engage your potential customers other than simply leaving messages on a Twitter feed. Many people these days are turning to video blogging, or videologging, which is an excellent way to reach out to customers in a way that best simulates the face-to-face interaction that you have with them at your store. If you can post videos of yourself talking about your product, it goes a long way toward creating that kind of proof of expertise that you have when you speak about your product in the store. A great way to augment the engagement factor youll get through working with social media is to have a blog or website to center everything on. This means that youll have a place to reference your potential customers to visit. Its even better if you can offer an online shopping center as well with your website, as this allows you to take even better advantage of the engagement of social networking. Its important to be able to engage customers local to you so that theyll visit the store, of course, but dont forget about the rest of the world, as well! Offering an online store allows you to make the entire world your selling market, not limited to the locality of your physical store. Essentially, as a business owner who owns a physical store, you are in a unique position to use social media as a weapon both online and offline. You can use it to think both globally and locally at the same time, and end up with incredible increases to your revenue. Dont let the social media revolution pass you by even though it might sound like a daunting arena to enter, its an entirely free way to up your engagement level with customers both locally and around the world. You Should Seriously Consider The Design Of Your Site

You Should Seriously Consider The Design Of Your Site

You Should Seriously Consider The Design Of Your Site

Many online businesses, in their haste to get up a website as soon as possible in order to start raking in the customers and the revenue, completely forget about the importance of web design when it comes to selling online.

It helps to think of your website as a physical store. Before you invited the customers in, youd take care to make sure that everything was organized, the place was easy to navigate for as many people as possible, and that the store was clean. If your store is cluttered, hard to navigate, and dirty, many customers will turn around and walk right out upon seeing the place, without giving a second thought to the products inside.

You Should Seriously Consider The Design Of Your Site

Web design is important in the same way. When you present your site it needs to be presented in a clean, clear-cut fashion that draws the customer in and invites them to explore the website more, rather than sending them running due to an onslaught of blinking graphics and clashing colors.

The best web designs, thankfully, tend to be the more simplistic ones. Make your links obvious and your text a reasonable size with appropriate colors. Note that appropriate colors doesnt necessarily mean that the website has to be in shades of white in fact, pops of color add interest and make your website memorable but having a yellow background with pink text is going to shock your customers in a way that youll likely find less than desirable.

Also fortunately, while most of us might not be web design gurus, there are a number of people who have dedicated their lives to the art of website design and maintenance. If you are a person who struggles to put italics into your HTML documents, theres no shame in admitting that youre not the grandfather of code. This is one place where outsourcing can be a great idea. Yes, a look at many website design sites might make you reel with the prices they quote, but there are ways to keep the costs low when it comes to outsourcing web design.

Consider purchasing a ready-made site and then buying customized graphics on top of that as opposed to getting a site made from scratch. You dont need to reinvent the wheel. Also consider talking with students from design schools yes, youll have to pay them, but they often charge much lower rates, and many students will jump at a chance to build their portfolios.

Also remember that outsourcing your web design can be claimed on your taxes for an online business. Dont be penny wise and pound foolish a good web design will serve you well and pay for itself in no time when it comes to the business of successful business.

Follow the Steps and Say Au Revoir To Your Competitors

Nobody likes a bully especially small business marketers. If youve ever felt like the little guy taking punches from a heavyweight champion, you know what Im talking about. Big business has donned its gloves, and is waiting to put small business down for the count.

Ive got good news!

Sometimes the little guy wins. Heck, it isnt easy and sometimes its a close call, but little guys do win and when they do victory is sweet!

Follow the Steps and Say Au Revoir To Your Competitors

What can you do when youre being threatened by the bully down the street?

1. Take a careful look at the Competition

Every business has its strengths and weaknesses. You need to be aware of both your competitors strong points, and the places where room for improvement is quite obvious.

2. Be Flexible

Dont expect your competitor to broadcast his next move so that you can be prepared to block it. Youve got to think a step ahead, and be ready to outsmart his next maneuver.

3. Use a little Judo

You dont have to be big and brawny to successfully use Judo. Why? Its an art that uses your opponents momentum to trip him up. So what if you dont have thousands of dollars to invest in a campaign.

When youre competition has invested his tens of thousands in one, youll be able to make a quick about turn and counteract quickly with a smaller campaign of your own.

Hell either forfeit his investment or continue through, but loose steam.

Im going to let you in on a little secret about your competitors that might encourage you. Although big businesses often have a wide variety of products filling their shelves, they often dont have depth.

Think about it this way.

You may run to your local department store and find everything ranging from make-up to camping equipment. The problem with that? chances are they dont have an extremely wide assortment of their products.

This means that if youre an avid outdoorsman, you probably wouldnt be satisfied choosing between two cheap brands of tents when there is an amazing variety on the market. An outdoor related store could get one over on the big department store by offering the widest variety of fewer products in a focused field.

Another asset about being the small guy, is that its easier to make a quick turn. Hey, how many managers do you have to get okays from to make a quick decision? Think of the weeks it takes for a local department store to send a request from a customer for a certain product to the regional or national management? Yeah, too long!

As a small business, you can have a new product on your shelves within a week. If I were a customer wanting a new tent, Id prefer to not wait until summer was half over to get it.

There are a lot of benefits to being the small guy. Dont take bullying lying down. You have what it takes to get the best end of the stick and come out a winner.
